Chawan

This wheel-thrown tea bowl was made in my small pottery workshop, here in Taiwan.

I used local Taiwanese clay and then applied two separate glazes, one on top of the other. They reacted well with this combination, producing a beautiful black with turquoise speckles, that look like stars in a galaxy.

The foot was hand carved, adding to the originality of the bowl.
