Mizusashi

This mizusashi (water jar) was created in the spirit of wabi sabi — embracing imperfection, asymmetry, and the quiet beauty of natural processes. Thrown from Taiwanese clay and wood-fired for four days, the piece bears the marks of flame and ash, each adding depth and individuality to its surface.

A shino glaze interacted with fly ash from the kiln, creating subtle blushes and rich textures that shift under different light. The slightly wonky, unrefined form gives it a humble character and warmth, inviting touch and reflection.

Every mizusashi tells its own story — this one speaks of patience, fire, and the unpredictable dialogue between artist and kiln.
