A soda fired sake set for ONE. This tokkuri and guinomi were both wheel thrown from Japanese porcelain.
The tokkuri feels nice in the hand. I added some etchings into the base of the tokkuri for interest, but also for the glaze to find its way into the grooves. The pouring lip was altered slightly by hand to again create some interest and movement. The tokkuri pours well.
The guinomi is simple in appearance, and I believe it compliments the tokurri. The same glaze was applied.
