Sake Tokkuri

This loosely thrown sake tokkuri was made in the wabi sabi style. Wabi sabi is a Japanese term used to describe beauty in the imperfection.

I used a combination of Taiwanese clay.

This tokkuri/vase was made with a playful spirit and the aim was to create a vessel that displayed uniqueness and character. I believe this tokkuri will make drinking sake an even more pleasurable experience.

The glaze is a beautiful blue/green combination, and is glossy to the touch. The tokkuri also shows some bare clay, and the foot was again made with freedom.

My seal is stamped near the foot.
