This tea bowl was hand-formed using locally sourced Taiwanese clay and wood-fired over four days, allowing flame, ash, and time to leave their mark on the surface. Each shift in color and texture reflects the natural interaction between fire and earth—no two areas are exactly the same.
The long firing process creates a rich, organic finish, with subtle variations that speak to the unpredictability and beauty of traditional wood firing. Natural ash deposits have melted into the surface, forming soft glazes and earthy tones that cannot be replicated.
Grounded in a wabi-sabi aesthetic, this piece embraces imperfection, quietness, and the passage of time. It is designed to be held, used, and appreciated slowly, whether for tea or as a contemplative object.
A one-of-a-kind piece, shaped by hand and finished by fire.
